Cocktails with Elvis: Conversation and its place in online advertising

Suppose you were at a cocktail party with four friends talking about which Elvis song is better – 'A Big Hunk O' Love' or 'All Shook Up.' Let's also say in attendance are the human equivalent of popular online advertising tactics – contextual ads, pop-ups and email marketing. How would each of these people look and act? How would you perceive what they had to say? Would you trust them?
